Optimal Extension released a new version of Unified Email Client API for Windows Live Mail and Outlook Express with Hotmail accounts support.

Hotmail or HTTP account type is widely used among Windows Live Mail and Outlook Express users. An email client can access emails from Hotmail servers and other servers whose support HTTP mail protocol. The major difference from POP3 account types is that HTTP protocol allows storing emails and folders on a server and easily access emails from different locations.

New version of Unified Email Client API from oeapi.com can operate with Hotmail accounts using the same methods as for POP3 accounts before. It provides access to emails and folders of Hotmail or HTTP accounts. The API allows requesting a message download from a server. It can notify a plug-in once a new message arrives or once a user attempt to send an email.

It can help automating common email tasks, including filtering incoming emails, appending custom signatures, moving messages between folders using specific rules, removing or updating attachments, adding special marks to emails, customizing adding new user interface features to email clients.

Optimal Extension released two versions of Unified Email Client API: for managed .Net languages, including C# and Vb.Net, and for C++ and other languages with COM support.
